Fearlessly Facing Change

Change is inevitable. But why is it so hard?

We might say, "That is the way it has always been - why change it?"

While not everything needs to change, it is good to shake things up in your life every now and then!

Try an exercise where you move your toothbrush to a different spot in the bathroom. Doesn't this feel strange at first?

Of COURSE it does! Our brains tend to like routine and when we modify that routine, the results can be disconcerting.

Change in our lives may require some time and commitment. Below are some tips that may be useful to you!

-Write it out on paper, along with your motivations, obstacles, and strategies for overcoming them.
-Commit fully, in a public way.
-Log your progress.
-Remain publicly accountable — report on your progress each day.
-Have support for when you falter — either in real life or online.
-Reward every little success.
-If you fail, figure out what went wrong, plan for it, and try again.
