"The Gables Gallop"

Run for 35 minutes
Every 400 meters, stop and perform 15 Burpees
*We will be performing "no thigh touch" Burpees today
*Each Burpee terminates with a jump one foot above max standing reach
*score is total number of Burpees performed

 

 

 

"The Gables Gallop" is a great example of the type of workout that can provide a very demanding training stimulus.  

By incorporating progressions and scaling, we are able to hold athletes to movement quality standards while preserving the intended training stimulus for the workout.

If we were to allow an athlete to perform this workout using movements, volume, and/or intensities that are not appropriate, then we have failed to uphold our professional duties.

 

 

Progressions and Workout Categories for "The Gables Gallop"

Life:
Run/Walk for 35 minutes
Every 200 meters, stop and perform 15 elevated Push-ups
*rest 30 seconds before and after your Push-ups
*score is total number of elevated Push-ups performed

Fitness:
Run for 35 minutes
Every 200-300 meters, stop and perform 15 Burpees, 15 Box Burpees or 15 Push-ups
*We will be performing "no thigh touch" Burpees today
*Each Burpee terminates with a jump one foot above max standing reach
*score is total number of Burpees/Push-ups performed

Performance:
Run for 35 minutes
Every 400 meters, stop and perform 15 Burpees
*We will be performing "no thigh touch" Burpees today
