This is a story that goes far beyond fitness. It’s about independence, resilience, and the power of simply showing up.
After years of struggling with mobility issues and fearing what aging might take from her, Margaret took a chance. She trusted Jesse and the supportive community at TREBEL. What she found wasn’t just a gym—but a team that truly listened, pushed her past limitations, and helped her regain the confidence to live life on her terms.
Today, she’s doing things she never thought possible—like hanging from a bar and mastering push-ups for the first time in decades. Her transformation proves it’s never too late to take control of your health.
More Than Just Fitness
When she moved to Blacksburg over a decade ago, Margaret searched everywhere for the right kind of workout. She tried yoga, weight clubs, and long walks—nothing clicked. Then a friend kept insisting:
“You really need to go see Jesse.”
Skeptical, she thought, “CrossFit? I can’t do CrossFit!” But her friend just smiled and said,
“Trust me. Just talk to him.”
So she did—and that first conversation changed everything.
“Jesse was so in tune with what I needed,” she remembers. “He listened, didn’t push, and really wanted to understand what I was going through.”
*Over the years, the business evolved too. Around 2016, Jesse expanded the brand to become TREBEL Wellness, shifting the focus from CrossFit group classes to a highly personalized approach centered on medical exercise, individual program design, and helping people like Margaret move and live a better life.

Small Wins That Changed Everything
Margaret started simply: rowing carefully, figuring out how to move without pain, working around a lifelong loss of mobility on her left side. Slowly, small victories stacked up.
One day, a longtime friend visiting for coffee noticed something remarkable.
“You just opened the microwave with your left hand. I’ve never seen you do that.”
Overjoyed, she spent the next few minutes opening every cabinet in the kitchen—just because she could.
“I felt like a kid in a candy store,” she said. “I even texted Jesse right away.”
Now she can hang from a bar for nearly a minute, knock out multiple push-ups, and move through daily life with a freedom that once seemed impossible.

Strength for Real Life
Her goal isn’t about chasing personal records. It’s about living fully and independently.
“I don’t want to live forever,” she says. “I just want to be on my own two feet, moving freely, for as long as I can.”
That means safely stepping over her cats, navigating uneven trails, reaching up into cabinets without fear, and climbing a ladder with confidence.
“Healthy independent living—that’s my real goal. You can be on your own, but is it truly healthy? That’s what I’m working on.”

A Community That Cares
What keeps her coming back isn’t just the workouts—it’s the watchful coaching, personal tweaks, and encouragement that show someone genuinely cares.
“It’s group training, but completely individualized. Jesse notices the little things and makes sure we’re all safe and improving.”
He also suggested acupuncture to stimulate nerves and improve mobility—something that turned out to be a game-changer.
“He never pushes. He just says, ‘Maybe try this,’ and he’s always right.”

The Best Advice of All
One day, she asked, “So what else can we try?”
Jesse smiled and simply said,
“You’ve done it all. Now just keep showing up. That’s how you stay strong.”
And that’s exactly what Margaret does. Day after day, she keeps moving, building strength, protecting her independence, and showing that it’s never too late to reclaim your life.
